East of the Sun and West of the Moon

“East of the Sun and West of the Moon” was presented by The Kunsthof as the second duo exhibition, featuring works by Northern artists Erica Scheper and Beth Wong from two different generations. 

About the title of the exhibition: It was suggested by Erica, and I remember her mentioning that it was inspired by the title of a jazz song. I was immediately drawn to the visual imagery it evokes. In my mind, I picture a cyclical movement—the sun and moon shifting positions, marking the passage of time with their dance. Later, I listened to the lyrics of the song. It carries a gentle, romantic atmosphere that I feel aligns with the mood of our work.
